On August 21, 2025, our member, the VDI Braunschweig District Association, will provide exciting insights into current projects and trends on green hydrogen in Northern Germany.

Green hydrogen is increasingly regarded as an indispensable key technology for a CO₂-free energy future. It plays a central role in the energy transition. However, there are current challenges in expanding the necessary infrastructure, particularly electrolyzers, storage, and pipeline networks for industrial use. Are there now reliable scales for H₂ suppliers and H₂ consumers? How do the concepts fit together, and where do we currently stand in building the green hydrogen economy?

The lecture will provide an overview of the current state of developments in Northern Germany, with a focus on Lower Saxony.

Date: August 21, 2025
Time: 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Online via Zoom

Speaker: Dr. Alexander Bedrunka, Hydrogen Specialist in the Lower Saxony Hydrogen Network, Head of Energy Systems and Infrastructure at the Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony GmbH (“KEAN”)

Moderator: Bernhard Schulte, AK Environmental Technology, BV Hannover
