Discover career opportunities, gain practical insights, and make valuable connections: The 17th Lower Saxony Summer School on “Hydrogen and Derivatives,” organized by the Research Center for Energy Storage Technologies at Clausthal University of Technology, brings together students, doctoral candidates, and early-career professionals with experts from academia and industry. The focus is on green hydrogen and its derivatives as key building blocks of the energy transition. Participants will gain practical insights into the entire value chain—from production through transport and storage to industrial applications.
Two members of the Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter e.V.—Salzgitter AG and the Fraunhofer IST—are also represented in the program. As part of a field trip, Salzgitter AG will demonstrate how it is driving the transformation of the steel industry through the SALCOS® project and utilizing hydrogen as a key technology for climate-friendly steel production. From Fraunhofer IST, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabrina Zellmer, deputy director of the institute, and Marcus Gapinski will contribute their expertise in the field of sustainable battery and hydrogen systems through two presentations. The focus will be on import options for hydrogen and its derivatives, as well as the State Graduate College on Hydrogen and the Hydrogen Derivative Ammonia.
