The energy transition requires not only technology, but above all collaboration. Through the “Hydrogen Network Southeast Lower Saxony” project, we are strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, and local governments and laying the foundation for a robust hydrogen economy in the region. The Hydrogen Campus Salzgitter e.V. is being established as a supraregional networking platform to connect stakeholders, tap into synergies, and initiate joint projects.
Fraunhofer IST contributes its scientific expertise in the field of sustainable energy systems and analyzes the potential of the hydrogen economy in Southeast Lower Saxony, while industrial companies and municipal members bring their experiences and needs to the supraregional collaboration. A joint “H2-Board-SON” brings together project ideas and develops strategies for building a regional hydrogen infrastructure.
The project is funded as part of the “Future Regions in Lower Saxony” program with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is co-financed by the European Union.
