What are the current costs of transport with different drive technologies? When will sustainable drive systems become competitive? What market conditions are necessary for the ramp-up of climate-neutral drives in the commercial vehicle sector?
These and many other questions are discussed and answered in detail in the white paper “The Future of Commercial Vehicles.” It provides a sound analysis of the status quo, builds on scenario analyses, and outlines practical, technology-open transformation pathways, with a particular focus on hydrogen as a key technology.
Marcus Gapinski, research associate at TU Braunschweig and Fraunhofer IST, contributed especially the techno-economic perspective on commercial vehicles. Together with the author team from VDI Braunschweig, Ostfalia, and Move Technology, a comprehensive work was created that not only presents various scenarios for the coming decades but also offers concrete recommendations for industry, politics, municipalities, and associations. The white paper thus serves as an impetus for all those who face the task of shaping realistic yet ambitious paths toward climate neutrality.
