Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter e.V. presents itself at the Hannover Messe 2025

Hydrogen is a key factor of the energy transition and plays a crucial role in reducing CO₂ emissions in industry and mobility. Especially in regions with energy-intensive production, such as Salzgitter, hydrogen offers the opportunity to establish sustainable and climate-friendly value chains. The Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter is the result of a broad alliance of stakeholders from the city, region, politics, business and science. Together, the partners are pursuing the goal of realizing hydrogen technologies along the entire value chain – from production to use – while taking economic and ecological aspects into account.

At the Hannover Messe 2025 from March 31 to April 4, 2025, the Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter will be presented at the Salzgitter AG stand C62 in hall 13. A model of the campus on a scale of 1:50 and a video illustrate the diverse opportunities that the Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter e.V. offers its members, and provides insights into selected projects.

One focus of the research activities is on the further development of hydrogen technologies along the entire value chain. This includes the optimization of electrolysis technology to improve the efficiency and economic viability of hydrogen production. In addition, research is being conducted into automated manufacturing and recycling processes for fuel cell and electrolysis stacks. Another important area is the use of hydrogen in industrial production and in mobility. In order to gradually reduce the dependency on fossil fuels in these sectors, solutions to integrate hydrogen into existing processes are being developed.

In addition to its function as a real-world laboratory for applied research, the Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter also sees itself as a platform for knowledge transfer. The campus offers practical training for specialists as well as events for apprentices and students. Interactive learning stations and an exhibition on the energy transition also make the potential of hydrogen technology accessible to various target groups.

By participating in the Hannover Messe 2025, the Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter is taking the opportunity to present its work to a national and international specialist audience, to initiate new partnerships and to promote the exchange of ideas on future-oriented hydrogen technologies. Visitors to the fair will be given a comprehensive insight into the diverse activities of the campus and can find out about current and planned projects as well as the membership in the Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter e.V.

We look forward to your visit at Stand C62 in Hall 13.
